Abundance has been on my mind lately and as someone who has done a lot of work to shift their energy into a dominant frequency* of abundance, I would say I qualify as an expert on the subject. I can manifest pretty much anything when I’m tuned to the frequency of abundance, which is also why my main priority is taking care of myself and managing my own energy. I can still teeter into a state of lack every once in a while though and the reason ‘abundance’ has been on my mind so much is because the last few weeks I felt myself teetering once again.
*Your Frequency = Your Thoughts, Beliefs and Feelings
I didn’t always realize it but there were days I was focused more on what I didn’t have and less on what I already did. It wasn’t until something happened that I finally woke up to where my thoughts and feelings had been trending. It actually took losing my only pair of sunglasses to bring me the awareness I needed to help shift me out of it. You’re probably wondering why that was the trigger but it wasn’t lost on me that for the last few weeks I kept thinking about a new pair I had recently tried on. It’s rare that I find a pair that fit my face well and it usually takes trying on a lot of them. I wasn’t ready to buy new sunglasses just yet - but I couldn’t stop thinking about how much I wanted them but didn’t have them yet. Looking back, my thoughts were more of an energy of ‘I want these sunglasses’ accompanied by a lower sort of discouraged feeling - not an ‘I love these glasses. They fit me perfectly’ accompanied by an excited to get them energy. Can you feel the difference? The latter is non-attachment and a trust that they’ll come. It’s a higher frequency of appreciation and excitement. They’re not necessarily missing or separate from me. The wanting but can’t have it is more of a needy, lower frequency. As a result, the sunglasses I had and loved for two years but failed to appreciate the last two weeks disappeared. Not only was I missing the ones I didn’t have, but now I was missing the ones I already had. It’s ok though. I’ve accepted it as a valuable reminder that I am now sharing with you.
The thing is, when you’re wanting something and feel like you don’t have the ability to get it - you’re noticing what’s not there, and that by definition is living in a state of lack. Abundance vs. Lack is very similar to Jealousy vs. Inspiration. One person might look at someone and feel jealous while another might get inspired. If you’re feeling jealous of someone - you’re thinking you can’t have/do/be whatever they are. If you can shift jealousy to inspiration - you’re acknowledging that you appreciate and admire everything they have going on and that you can actually have it too. It’s just perception and we’re all responsible for our own. Feeling lack only creates more lack. Feeling inspired and abundant creates more abundance. It’s an energetic law. It’s also a choice you have in every moment.
I think many of us connect the word abundance to money - and even though money is a form of it, it’s so much more than that. It’s also so much more than material objects - I just thought the recent example of losing my sunglasses was fitting. Abundance is anything you feel like you have a lot of or will always have a lot of. It could be money, time, energy, a clean home, inspired ideas, health, love of family, friends, clients, options, and so forth. It could also be things in nature - the air, the flowers in spring, the trees - something we all have free access to.
If you think about it, nature is inherently abundant - there’s no end to it and it’s self-renewing. The rain comes when it’s needed and the flowers bloom when it’s time. Nature’s resources are unlimited and here’s the truth - so are ours. There can be an endless flow if we want there to be, but there is also an ebb and flow to nature that we hate to recognize in ourselves. When the sun is shining - you don’t notice the lack of rain but most of us notice the lack of sun when it’s raining. The same can be said for money, health, energy, and love. When the money is flowing, your energy levels are great, your health is good, and you have a loving relationship - life is good. You might not notice much of what’s missing, but you also might fail to appreciate what’s already there. And when money feels tight or you don’t have a boyfriend/girlfriend but really want one - it’s a lot easier to notice that the money or love isn’t there. The more you notice what’s not there and keep talking about what’s not there - the more it will continue to not be there. But those things are just energy and they are always available to you if you connect to it.
This is why creating a daily gratitude list is so important to me. Everyday there is so much to be grateful for but to most people those things might go unnoticed - someone buying you a cup of tea, treating you to lunch, or being generous with their time and energy. The more you can focus on the good that is flowing in different ways each day - the good will keep growing. When I do feel myself teetering, I’ll pause to think of what I’m grateful for or what the positive highlights of my day have been. There are times I have left work for a 10 minute break and created a list on my phone just to shift my energy. I’ve also made it a habit to think of everything I am grateful for from my day as soon as I get in my car after work to drive home. There are two worksheets I actually created from my own processes and experiments that will help you focus on feeling more abundant: The Abundance Mindset + Abundance Mindset II. These are intentional and powerful mindset practices that I have used at different times to create more abundance in my life. Play around and have fun with it!
Not only is abundance anything you feel like you have a lot of - but it’s also your ability to receive what you need when you need it. It’s a frequency. I was listening to a Bashar video last week that really helped lift me out of my funk. I heard him say “Abundance is really just the ability to do what you need to do, when you need to do it”. That resonated so much because for the most part thats’s how I feel I’ve been taught to live my life more and more - caring for my energy, being mindful about how I spend it, then both allowing and trusting that what I need or want will show up at the right time - which means the energy is aligned. This is something else that not only takes a lot of practice, but also patience and trust. I’ve added the short video for you to watch below.
When you’re tuned into the frequency of abundance - your ability to attract anything you want or need is almost effortless and you really don’t need money to get what you need. There are infinite ways for resources to be delivered to you - especially the ones you need to fulfill your purpose. I’m actually writing this newsletter from my brand new laptop that I manifested as a gift just last month when I wanted a new one. I could list a ton of other forms of abundance I manifested in different ways recently without trying:
(1). My favorite $165 face cream by a friend who works at a beauty store just a day before I ran out earlier this month in addition to my regular discount on it.
(2). A yoga mat for my at home workouts from ALO a day after I was thinking about getting one. My sister and I were at the ALO store. She was buying something and the girl at checkout mentioned she could take a yoga mat home with points - you would normally need to order it online, but they had one if she wanted it. That wasn’t just a coincidence. Obviously I chimed in and said ‘yes!’
(3). A complimentary healing session on Sunday night (an emotional clearing) even though I would have happily paid.
Then just yesterday, I was appreciating all the time and resources I had to take care of myself on that day alone - my slow walk to pilates, a sauna session that I was invited to, time to shop for groceries, all the good snacks I brought home, even time to meditate before a doctors appointment in the afternoon. In my opinion, an abundance of time is highly under-appreciated by so many.
Below is another video featuring Abraham Hicks that I love and think explains it so well.
More often than not, I’m always noticing the things that are present but also flow to me effortlessly, and I always want to stop long enough to be grateful for it. Something I say throughout the day is ‘Thank You, God’ when I am noticing something I really appreciate. It’s short but intentional. This is yet another practice that could help shift you from a state of lack to abundance - and when I was finishing my call with Dianne from Sacred Light Integrations on Sunday night I asked her my favorite question at the end of our session which is always “where is my current vibration?” and she said “Abundant”.
